Ecuador is part of  the Hague Apostille Convention too.  The document can be legalized with an Apostille.  If you prefer you can legalize the documents throught the Ecuatorian Consulate

If your country is not part of the Hague Apostille Convention and there is not an Ecuatorian Consulate , you need to legalize the documents before a consulate of a State who has consular relations with Ecuador. We recommend you the consulate of Panama. In this case there is an overcharged due to the fact that we have to send the documents to Panama to be legalized before the Ecuatorian Consulate in Panama.

The documents have to be in Spanish. If they are in any other language they have to be translated by an official translator into Spanish.
