Requirements for Registering an Industrial Design in Ecuador |

What minimum documents and information are required to present a claim to register an industrial design in Ecuador?
1. Claimant's full identifying information - Complete name or social denomination
- Complete address, city & country
- Telephone and fax numbers
- Email
- If the claimant is an association, the same information is required of the legal representative
- If the claimant and the designer are not the same, the same information is required of the designer
2. Name of the industrial design, it should reflect the obejct and industrial area with which the design is associated 3. Clear indication of the type and genre of the products which the design applies to, according to the Locarno classification. 4. The graphic or fotographic representation of the industrial design. - Regarding two dimensional designs incorporated in a flat material, the representation can be substituted with a sample of the product that incorporates the design.
- Regarding three dimensional designs the following angles need to be presented: perspective, superior, inferior, right side, left side, front and back.
- Perspective of the design.
- Keep in mind that the drawings must be presented without measurements, technical specifications, brands, outlines, frames, or other indication.
- Digital copy in format .jpg of all the drawings
- Description of the drawings
5. If applicable, date, number and address of the office that filed the claim of the registration of the design whose priority is being invoked.
6. If the claimant is a legal entity, a certificate of existence and legal representation. This document corresponds to the Certificate of Registration before which the entity took the public records of the association in your country, generally the Chamber of Commerce. 7. If applicable, the document where the assignment to the right of the right to the industrial design from the designer to the claimant. 8. Power of Attorney for our attorneys, whcih we'll send as soon as we receive the information from points 1, 2 and 5 9.
