The property title given to a new product or process that brings a new way of doing something or offers a new technical solution to a problem.  It provides protection for 20 years of the application date.

 

Utility Model Patent

 

The property title given to a new way or configuration of elements or object, which permits better or different functionality of an artefact, in such a way that this provides some utility or advantage which did not exist previously.  It provides protection for 10 years from the date of filing.
